SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY POLICY BIOSAFETY SA

BIOSAFETY SA is committed to implementing and maintaining continuous compliance with the requirements of the SA8000 standard, ensuring a working environment that respects human dignity, human rights and the principles of social accountability.

More specifically, the Company’s commitments regarding the different implementation areas are as follows:

  1. Child Labor: We strictly prohibit the employment of minors.
  2. Forced or Compulsory Labor: We prohibit all forms of forced, bonded or compulsory labour and do not retain personal documents or guarantees from employees.
  3. Health and Safety: We are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment, through identification, assessment and minimization of occupational risks.
  4. Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining: We respect the right of all employees to organize and bargain collectively.
  5. Discrimination: We prohibit any discrimination based on race, social origin, caste, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation, political or other beliefs.
  6. Disciplinary Practices: We prohibit all forms of physical, psychological or verbal abuse as well as any inhumane or degrading treatment.
  7. Working Hours: We comply with applicable labour legislation and the requirements of the standard regarding working hours and overtime.
  8. Remuneration: We ensure that wages meet at least the legal minimum wage requirements and are sufficient to cover employees’ basic living needs.
  9. Management Systems: Management is committed to implementing, regularly reviewing and continuously improving the social accountability management system, ensuring the necessary resources and objective evaluation of its effectiveness.

BIOSAFETY S.A. informs all interested parties that the SA8000 standard is developed and managed by Social Accountability International (SAI), that the certification of the Social Accountability Management System according to SA8000 is carried out by the certification body EUROCERT and that the accreditation body for certification bodies is SAAS (Social Accountability Accreditation Services).

Employees and any interested party may submit observations, complaints or reports related to the implementation of SA8000 requirements either through the Company’s internal mechanisms or directly to the above-mentioned bodies, in accordance with their available communication procedures.

This policy is communicated to all employees and made available to all interested parties.
