SAFETY PATH is a program designed to guide each organization on a step-by-step journey towards cultivating a mature and sustainable Occupational Health and Safety Culture.
The development of SAFETY PATH was based on the experience and findings of a ten-year DuPont study of serious injuries occurring at its facilities. The study reached a critical conclusion: 96% of injuries resulted from unsafe actions by employees or poor work practices. This finding highlighted the fundamental importance of human behavior and a safety culture within the organization.
This very need for the systematic cultivation of a culture of Health and Safety at Work, with an emphasis on behavior and continuous training, was the starting point for the creation of SAFETY PATH.
SAFETY PATH is a cyclical program that includes a continuous process, which is divided into 3 basic steps:
1. Situation Recognition: Measuring & Visualizing Culture
Based on the Bradley Curve, an organization’s culture is measured and visualized in one of four basic stages/phases that describe the maturity of an organization’s H&S culture. This process shows the stage of maturity an organization is in regarding H&S, identifies key issues and weaknesses, and helps in designing strategies for its continuous improvement.
2. Implementation of Measures and Interventions
Actions are planned and implemented to resolve the problems-weaknesses identified in the previous stage.
3. Feedback and Repetition
Culture is measured again and visualized based on the Bradley curve to show the evolution of the company.
This process is repeated continuously, with the aim of each time taking another step closer to a mature and safe work culture.

The name S.A.F.E.T.Y. P.A.T.H. is not accidental. Each letter is an acronym for the 10 basic pillars that make up the path of every company towards a safer and healthier working environment. Both the measurement of the maturity of an organization and the corrective measures that are proposed subsequently are based on these 10 pillars.

The implementation of an integrated Occupational Health & Safety system, such as the one supported by SAFETY PATH, leads to:
The result is the strengthening of an organization’s culture with direct benefits in:
